Our History
Scott and Heather Eller dreamed about creating the Renaissance Manor until its inception in 1998. "The Manor", an Assisted Living Facility in Sarasota with a Limited Mental Health License, had humble beginnings. The Eller's started off as the administrators, the cooks, housekeeping, and facility maintenance. To this day, Scott is acting President/CEO and Heather is the Vice President. As advocates for SPMI (severe & persistently mentally ill) individuals with behavioral and co-occurring disorders, they recognized the need for different levels of residential options for those who would not have it available otherwise.
Charley Richards, founded Community Affordable & Supported Living in 1997. Charley provided affordable scattered-site housing for the developmentally disabled population.
The Ellers envisioned a similar housing model to provide independent living options in nice communities, for individuals with mental illnesses.
In 2009, Renaissance Manor and Community Affordable merged to become
Community Assisted & Supported Living!
